چکیده

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: The parathormone level after parathyroidectomy in dialysis patients are of interest. Low levels may require cryopreserved tissue implantation; however, the resection is necessary case recurrence. We analyzed post renal hyperparathyroidism. METHODS: Prospective observation postoperative over defined periods a cohort that underwent total and immediate forearm autograft from 2008 to 2010, at single tertiary care hospital. RESULTS: Of 33 patients, until 36 months could be divided into four patterns. Patients with stable function (Pattern 1) show relatively constant two (67% cases). Early later failure 2) were an initial marked reduction before one year (18%). Graft recurrence 3) showed progressive increase cases (12%). Complete graft 4) was nonfunctioning implant any period, which observed patient (3%). Parathormone Pattern 3 became statistically different 1 months. CONCLUSIONS: present patterns possible varied therapeutic management.

Persistent parathyroid hormone elevation following curative parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism.

BACKGROUND Persistent elevation of parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels following parathyroidectomy may indicate residual abnormal parathyroid tissue. OBJECTIVE To determine the clinical significance and risk factors for persistent PTH elevation following curative parathyroidectomy. METHODS A prospective study of consecutive patients with primary hyperparathyroidism who had resolution of hyperc...

Efficacy of intraoperative parathyroid hormone monitoring to predict success of parathyroidectomy for secondary hyperparathyroidism

PURPOSE In secondary hyperparathyroidism (sHPT), it is unclear which criterion for intraoperative parathyroid hormone (ioPTH) decline performs best and whether ioPTH monitoring is sufficiently efficacious in predicting postoperative surgical cure by retrospective review. METHODS In 80 parathyroidectomies for sHPT, patients with ioPTH monitoring and follow-up PTH assay were categorized into ph...

Reassessment of parathyroid hormone monitoring during parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism after 2 preoperative localization studies.

HYPOTHESIS For patients with primary hyperparathyroidism and patients with 2 localization studies showing the same single location of parathyroid disease, use of intraoperative parathyroid hormone (IOPTH) measurement does not significantly increase the success of minimally invasive parathyroidectomy. DESIGN Retrospective cohort study. SETTING Experience of 2 academic centers over 5 years (a...

Intraoperative Parathyroid Aspiration and Parathyroid Hormone Assay During Parathyroidectomy for Primary Hyperparathyroidism.

BACKGROUND Direct aspiration from suspected pathological tissue and rapid parathyroid hormone analysis may offer a reliable, cost effective alternative to currently used "gold standard" tests. OBJECTIVES To validate the accuracy of intraoperative measurements of parathyroid hormone levels in parathyroid adenomas. METHODS A prospective study included 22 patients diagnosed with primary hyperp...

A Retrospective Study of the Impact of Intraoperative Intact Parathyroid Hormone Monitoring During Total Parathyroidectomy for Secondary Hyperparathyroidism: STARD Study.

The study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of intraoperative intact parathyroid hormone (IO-iPTH) in patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism (HPT). The cut-off for IO-iPTH monitoring remains unknown. This was a single-center retrospective review of 226 consecutive patients (107 males and 119 females) who underwent parathyroidectomy for secondary HPT between May 2010 and March 2014....
